Mr. Pompei has over 30 years experience in the field of occupational Health and Safety. Jack brings a pro-active 21st century, state of the art approach to the field of loss prevention. Preventing occupational injuries, illnesses and fatalities is the greatest cost savings factor both indirect and direct a company can realize as part of the bottom line. Implementation of sound management strategies such as an occupational safety and health program is essential for competitiveness in today’s global environment. From 1987 to 1996, Jack developed and administered the premier Occupational Safety and Health Program in the country [30 million-dollar budget and 243 employees] for the State of Oregon. During Mr. Pompei’s tenure as administrator of the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA) there was eight straight years of incidence rate reductions for the State both in the private and public sectors. During this period of time the employment for the state increased by approximately one half million workers. Over 250,000 workers and their families were spared the tragedy of serious injury, illness and/or fatalities. These incidence rates and fatality rates were all records for Oregon. Before becoming Administrator of Oregon-OSHA, Mr. Pompei was Superintendent of the Ohio Division of Safety and Hygiene [313 employees]. Mr. Pompei taught principles of Occupational Health and Safety for the Ohio State University for approximately five years. Courses were geared to workers and management pertaining to the workplace occupational safety and health hazards specific to the certain types of work processes. Years prior to teaching, Jack practiced as a consulting industrial hygienist for the state of Ohio and holds a Masters Degree in Human Anatomy and Respiratory Physiology.
