Description

Rich is a Certified Safety Professional with 40 years of safety management experience in the government, as well as process chemical and construction industries. Currently, he is Corporate Director of Health, Safety and Environment for the U.S. operations of PCL Construction Enterprises, a firm that maintains 13 U.S. operating locations and is #6 on the 2014 ENR top 400 contractor list. Prior to working for PCL, he was Corporate Safety Director for BE&K Construction, Inc. in Birmingham, AL for 14 years until the firm was purchased. BE&K provided self-perform construction services for the Pulp and Paper, Chemical Process, Refining, and Steel industries as well as Commercial Building and Government construction projects. Before that, Rich was Corporate Safety and Industrial Hygiene Manager for Occidental Chemical Corporation and Corporate Safety Director for NCH Corporation, both in Dallas, TX. Rich is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel who had several challenging safety management assignments and piloted a variety of Air Force aircraft. He had two combat flying tours in Southeast Asia and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross three times. Rich has a B.S. Degree from Iowa State University in Entomology and an M.S. from Central Michigan University in Industrial Management. He has five grown children and lives with his wife Debra who is a nursing college instructor and nurse practitioner.
